Hey there, my name is Hamish Mathieson and sometimes I take photos.  I’m mostly self-taught and a lot of the technical side of photography still baffles me.  A long time ago I came up with the pseudonym Rambo Estrada.  I like to use Estrada as my photo credit, but on the rare occasions that I actually get a shot published the credit always reads photo: Hambo.  But I’m in charge round here so it’s all Estrada on this site.

The surf mags only have room for so many shots and I submit images to NZ Surfing Magazine.  Cory Scott runs the show over there and he is hands down the best surf photographer we’ve ever had in this country, so the standard is super high.  Most of the time I only get a couple of small shots in each issue, which is fine, but generally that means everything else I shot over that 2 month period never sees the light of day.  So I thought it would be cool to post some images on my own site, probably no one will ever look at them, but it’ll make me feel better about myself.
